Mars is a 2003 registered American Sport Pony gelding by Welsh Section B stallion, Kilvey Taran, out of our ASPR/APHA mare Sophie (Vandys Miss Sierra). Mars was the very first Sport Pony born and bred at Runaway Farms. He is a flashy little pony who will likely be taking the hunter circuit by storm in the next couple of years. His naturally balanced gaits, featuring a particularly smooth and rolling canter, will make it easy for Mars to look good in any discipline. When Mars was only 8 months old, he jumped out of a 12x12 stall over a half door...we knew then that he had inherited his mother's wonderful talent and desire to jump! This fact, coupled with his ability to perform clean lead changes over and over again out in the field, lead us to believe that Mars will be a natural Hunter who will be gathering up the blue ribbons very soon!
